Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. The department has very good lab facilities. The department has industry standard software tools like AutoCAD, NX-CAM, FEM, High Velocity Crash Analysis Software (IMPACT) and Solid Works.


DBGI is aimed at producing ME professionals with practical exposure that meets the latest requirements of the engineering industry. The knowledge gained after this education includes Mechanics, Kinematics, Thermodynamics, Materials Science, and Structural Analysis. The department has developed strong research interests in faculty members as well as students in diverse areas of Mechanical Engineering.

About the Session– The lecture was organized on 20/03/2015 in DBGI Seminar Hall and attended by students of B.Tech. Pre Final Year and Final year Mechanical Engineering. The guest discussed about lack of focus as well as concentration among the students for doing constructive works and daily life also. He gave many tips for creating a safety environment while working. The session in concise was an effective Eye Opener for the students.

About the Session- The lecture was organized on 24/03/2015 in DBGI Seminar Hall and attended by students of B.Tech. Second Year & Pre Final Year Mechanical Engineering. The topic of the session was “Standardization”. The speakers told the students in brief about BIS and its functions in various aspects of industrial sectors. They also gave a brief introduction of various Standards on which the consumable items are categorized. In the end they told about the scope of studying various Standards for upcoming Mechanical engineers, which can help them in their employment generation.
