“SPHOORTI”- Winning is a habit, Success is a choice – Sports Club

The Sports club “SPHOORTI” is committed to provide a healthy sporting habit among the students. It helps to learn teamwork, coordination among diverse cultural & ethnic groups and mainly infuses discipline & instills the value system in one individual. Value of time, precision & competitiveness are the major learning points apart from communication, coordination & teamwork.

Sports club encourages students to develop their sports skills in various outdoor and indoor games like Football, Handball, Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Athletics, Chess, Carom Board, Table Tennis, Physical Fitness Program (will be conducted in Gym), Weight Lifting. Our college has grounds and equipment for each of these sports. The club also encourages the students to participate in Inter College and Intramural College sports competitions.

NSS CLUB

National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. Aimed at developing student’s personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community (esp. Villages) linkage. Orientation of students in national problems. Study of philosophy of NSS. Basic concepts and components of NSS. Special camping programme.

Fundamental rights, Directive principles of state policy.
Awareness programme, Consumer awareness, Highlights of consumer act. Function literacy non formal education of rural youth. Environment enrichment and conservation. Health, family welfare and nutrition. Brief of five year plans.

The motto of National Service Scheme is NOT ME BUT YOU.

AIM of the Events

  • The programme aims to instill the idea of social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias.
  • NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity.
  • In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.
  • It also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster’s victims.

Surtaal (Music and Dance Club)

If you like performing, creating, listening to, and writing music, then this is the club for you. The dance club “Surtaal” serves as a platform for musicians of all genres and skill levels to showcase their talent at various events held at DBGI. Through music club dozens of musicians on campus get a change to bring the stage to life and to make the crowd go crazy with their awesome vocal and instrumental talent! Despite their hectic schedules, the musicians on campus come together and put up entertaining shows. Further the students are trained and guided for participating in inter college competition. This club is a voluntary organization dedicated for the promotion of music and dancing skills of the students.

Music is in the air! In Music club students will explore genres of music, how music is made, and how to use the coolest musical apps available. The best part of Music club will be our regular student performances and the various Talent Shows, where participants can build confidence and exhibit their talents.

Surtaal, the dance club, aims to connect more DBGI students, faculty, and staff, with the world of dance. Specifically, we want students to experience different styles of dance and let everyone believe that ANY BODY CAN DANCE! Our club gives students a way to maintain or discover a love of dance. Based on input from club coordinators and members and academic departments, we bring guest artists to campus to give workshops, performances, and lectures throughout the year… Any and all levels of experience are welcome; the club environment is very laid back and friendly; we are always looking for people who like to dance!

The motive of the club is to boost up the morale of students and to highlight the talent of dance and creativity. It provides opportunities to dance lovers to prove their talent and it is a good platform for them to have their artistic exploration. This club plays an important role in maintaining the positive environment in the university. The club incorporates a variety of dance styles, including modern and jazz, with some ballet. Dancers will be introduced to the different kinds of dance, while later exploring the mechanics of the structure of each style, and finally learning a routing integrating all dance styles.

AIM of the Club

  • To gain familiarity with a range of different musical practices and traditions, including selected classical, Indian popular, and folk practices.
  • To learn to create (perform and compose), and analyze music.
  • The club focuses on students performing musical exercises such as playing through scales, chord charts, strumming patterns and rhythms and they will practice these rhythms independently and in groups.

Description:

  • The Student Nurses’ Association of India (SNAI) is an affiliated association of the student nurses under the umbrella of TNAI.
  • The main purpose behind the establishment of SNAI was to uphold dignity and to promote a team spirit among students with professional ethics.
  • At the unit level, the unit executive committee manages SNA affairs.
  • It comprises of President (Principal of the institution - TNAI member), SNA Advisor (any elected faculty - TNAI member), Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the conveners of various committees are student nurses elected by the students during their SNA General Body meeting.

Sanjeevani Students’ club under School of Allied Sciences in association with National Service Scheme, DBUU organized a microbial literacy awareness drive on 8th November 2023 in Sri Guru Ram Rai Inter College, Bhauwala, Dehradun. The event was organized by Prof. Nabeel Ahmad, Dean School of Allied Sciences and Dr. Nirjara Singhvi, Assistant professor, SoAS. The aim of the event was to spread awareness microbial literacy that can help school students make informed decisions about hygiene, vaccination, and disease prevention. The Microbial Literacy Drive, organized for school students, aimed to foster awareness and understanding of microorganisms among the younger generation. The event incorporated various engaging activities, including an awareness talk, poster-making session, debate competition, and quiz, to ensure a comprehensive learning experience. The event was attended by more than 150 school students from class 9th-12th. The event was convened by students body of Sanjeevani and NSS.
