On its second day, the Faculty Development Program witnessed the interactive talk on “Urban Dynamics” by Dr. V. Dev Das (Dept. of Architecture & Planning, IIT Roorkee) in the first session and “Earthquake Resistant design of structures” by Dr. Sushanta Kumar Sethy (UPES, Dehradun) in the second session.
Dr. V. Dev Das elaborated about the systems, system dynamics, and urban dynamics with the help of case studies based on the cities like Chandigarh and Kanyakumari and also addressing the problem of population explosion & its effects. He also conveyed a life lesson by stating “Kanyakumari is not the ending point instead it is the starting point for the entrance from south of India. That’s how we should think… Be optimistic always.”
While in the second session, Dr. Sushanta talked about earthquake, its characterization, earthquake analysis, earthquake-resistant design, repair & retrofitting of structures and advanced technologies.

The third day of Faculty Development Programme witnessed the thoughtful talks by the experts.In the first session, Dr. Mukesh Dubey (UPES, Dehradun) elborated on “Planning and management aspects for earthquake resistant design”. He also discussed about the approach to ERC construction, ER structure, and seismic design.
And in the second session, our special speaker Dr. Girish Chandra Joshi (Senior Consultant, USDMA) talked about the earthquake mitigation, disaster management and the current situation of earthquake-resistant structures in Uttarakhand.
The speakers emphasized on how the modern earthquake resistant designs are more focussed on minimizing the affects of earthquake.

The fourth day of the Faculty Development Programme witnessed the thoughtful talks by the experts.In the first session, Dr. Pananjay K Tiwari (Associate Prof. NIMS University) & Editor in Chief (CRDEEP International Journals, Dehradun) elaborated the subject on ” Earthquake: Tragedy to Life and Property”.
He discussed the Major terms related to Earthquake.And the second session, our special speaker DR. Faraz Tariq (IIT Roorkee, UK-India Education and Research Initiative) talked about the “Fire Resistance Of Earthquake Damaged Structures”.The speakers emphasized on building earthquake resistant structures and caused due to earthquake reaction.

Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions observed the presence of two domain experts Dr. Ajit Kumar (GBPUAT) and Dr. Anjana Rajput (Environment Manager, Econ Laboratories) on the fifth day of Faculty Development Programme.

In the first session, Dr. Ajit Kumar emphasized on “Seismic resistance of foundation structure”. During his talk, Dr. Ajit said that “Only those structures can be defined as good which are economical as well as technically standardized.”
While in the second session Dr. Anjana Rajput talked about “Sustainable and Earthquake resistant structural systems”.

The one-week long Faculty Development Programme(FDP) on “Structural Dynamics and Earthquake-resistant” reached its end in the attendance of various geniuses who inspired and imparted immense knowledge related to the theme of the programme to the faculty colloquium.
In the first session, Dr. Anchal (DIT University, Dehradun) gave an educational talk about the “Koti Banal Architecture” which can be found in the valley of Yamuna river in Rajgarhi area and also threw light on the importance of Bio-mimicry.
And in the second session, Dr. Muddu Vinay (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, ICFAI University) talked about the responsibility of teachers to make society a better place to live in while Dr. M.P.S. Bisht (Director, USAC) gave an intellectual talk about the use of space technology, natural resource management, and also about anthropogenic activities on land resources.
