NATIONAL SYMPOSIUM in collaboration with Red Cross Society “Safe and Effective medication”

ABOUT EVENT

There should be a more focus on health-related complaints due to medication. For about the last 20 years, there has been a great deal of focus and research on patient safety. But occurrence of threatening effect due to unsafe medication is increasing day by day. This symposium will help to reduce preventable harm by developing, implementing, and evaluating cross sector interventions with partners committed to safe and appropriate medication use.

AIM of the Events

1.       To ensure access to medicines and their appropriate use

2.       By this student gain the knowledge of medicines.

3.       The aim of this symposium is to improve quality of life

4.       For patient safety through improving medicines use and reducing medication errors.

To organize activities that promote and advocate for the role of the pharmacist in improving health in every corner of the world.

A one day National Symposium on “Safe and Effective Medication” was organized in Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions, Dehradun in association with Indian Red Cross Society, Uttarakhand State Branch, Dehradun. The program was inaugurated by our Chief Guest Dr. Satish Pingal, Medical Officer, Indian Red Cross Society, Uttrakhand State Branch. Dr AK Jaiswal, Director DBIT; Professor Pankaj Chaudhary, Director Academics; Dr Amit Bhatt, Director DBIMS; Dr Jhuma Samanta; Director DBIPR honored the occasion.

The aim of this symposium was to bring pharma professional and medical practitioner together in one platform. The topic “Safe and Effective Medication” in healthcare systems continues to evolve from a product focus to a patient-centered care system ensuring the safe and responsible use of medications in all practice. It also provided a platform for the researchers to present the finding of their research work and discuss the outcomes with the experts in different areas.

The program was started by a very informative lecture on Safe and Effective Medication in Pregnancy by Dr. Satish Pingal, Medical Officer, Indian Red Cross Society, Uttrakhand State Branch. Renowned academician Dr. Ajay Semalty, Asst. Proffesor, HNB, GU delivered a lectutre on Role of Pharmacist for Ensuring Safe and Effective Use of Medicines. Tuberculosis: Past, Present and Future was enlightened by eminent speaker and scientist Dr. Narotam Sharma, Scientist Dept. of Biotechnology, SGRR University. Dr. Bhawna Kumar, Asst. Prof, DIT university delivered a very interesting lecture on Correct Use of Antibiotics to Avoid Superbug Infection. Apart from these 20 presentations were made by participants through oral and posters presentation on relevant topics. Four hundred plus delegates were participated. Participants were participated from different Pharmacy Institutes of Uttarakhand and Chandigarh. The symposium was a grand success.
