ABOUT EVENT

National Symposium on Current trends in Medicinal Plants & Herbal Products as biomedicine of Uttarakhand was held on 24th March, 2018, organized by Department of Microbiology. This symposium was to provide a scientific forum for State and National community researchers and practitioners to share knowledge and increase enthusiasm for promoting research based ideas among participants.

The forests and flora of Uttarakhand holds medicinal properties, many of which are still left to unfold. The symposium aimed to make this less explored and underutilized resource the highlight of the event. Medicinal and aromatic plants amalgamate well with a wide variety of chemical compounds that are used to cure various diseases, and Uttarakhand has a treasure of such plants.

The objective of the symposium was to explore systematically recent trends of Medicinal plants and Herbal products as natural resource with their biological activity and toxicity as a source for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The organizing committee for this symposium comprised of Dr. Shiv Shanker Gautam, Dr. Pallavi Gautam, Dr.Vijaya Rawat, Dr. P.K. Mishra, Mrs.Ankika Sharma, Ms. Shradha Soni, Ms. Diksha Surya, Mr. Yogendra Adhikari and Mr. Arun Ranjan.
