Guest Lecture on statistical Applications in Forestry by Department of Applied Sciences
ABOUT EVENT
Today Department of Forestry organized a guest lecture on the topic “STATISTICAL APPLICATIONS IN FORESTRY” And the guest of the day was Dr. Raman Nautiyal Scientist-E from ICFRE, HQ, FRI Dehradun.
He explained the role of statistical studies in daily life of an individual, as it’s the chances of things being held or not and then focused on the variations in it. He focused on the following topics as to how to draw inferences (conclusions with a certain degree of confidence), To understand data – raw data doesn’t make sense), including Big data – auto entries in search engines, smart phones as well as on Small area – estimation in small domains. On this occasion the Director DBIMS, Dr. Amit Bhatt, felicitate the guest, Dr. Raman Nautiyal by giving sapling. The lecture was very beneficial for the students as it is applied in our daily life too. Followed by Director, Dean DBIMS Dr. Neha Dhobal, HOD Forestry- Dr. Pallavi Gautam, HOD Agriculture Dr. P.K. Seghal, and Dr. Vijaya Rawat, Ms. Habiba Begum and other concerned faculties were present. It was one of the best guest lecture to come up.
